Requirements

Minimum GPA: 2.00 / 4.0

Admission Requirements: This accelerated one-year stream is open to graduates of a related college diploma or university degree in human services, who complete the program in two semesters (September to May) after applying through ontariocolleges.ca with a transcript showing a minimum GPA of 2.0 or a C average. International applicants need a four-year degree from an accredited university or college in a healthcare-related field such as Nursing, Physiotherapy, Kinesiology, or Occupational Therapy (first class), or a Bachelor of Education, with notarized, translated transcripts showing no more than six backlogs or failures, plus Academic IELTS of 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0. Applicants who do not meet the accelerated-stream requirements are directed to the standard two-year Recreation Therapy diploma program.

Application Deadline: Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca: for Fall 2027 entry the application opened 26 September 2026 and the province-wide equal-consideration date is 1 February 2027; Confederation also publishes its own equal-consideration dates of 1 March for Winter-entry programmes and 1 April for Spring-entry programmes. After these dates, files are assessed on a rolling, first-come basis while seats remain, and the college flags Aviation, Health, Engineering Technology and Community Services programmes as filling quickly. International applicants apply via international.ocas.ca; intakes close roughly six weeks before each semester starts and a programme can close earlier once seats fill, so no fixed international closing date is published. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
