Overview

This diploma totals 2,200 hours of study and is accredited by the Canadian Massage Therapy Council for Accreditation. Coursework covers anatomy, biomechanics, orthopedic assessment, therapeutic massage techniques, and client assessment and treatment planning, aligned with national competencies set by the Federation of Massage Therapy Regulatory Authorities of Canada. The program includes 330 hours of supervised treatments delivered to public clients in a student-run clinic and community outreach settings. Applicants are not required to meet the university's general admission requirements or submit transcripts unless demonstrating English language proficiency; international students must meet English Language Proficiency requirements. The program suits individuals seeking a hands-on path into massage therapy practice. Graduates are eligible for municipal licensing, may pursue membership with professional associations, and can work in multidisciplinary clinics, rehabilitation centres, spas, nursing homes, hospitals, community health clinics, or private practice; some graduates may also receive transfer credit toward a bachelor's degree at Thompson Rivers University.
