This program is an honours Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree delivered on Confederation College's Thunder Bay campus. The four-year, eight-semester curriculum combines foundational science coursework — anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology — with nursing theory and practice courses covering fundamentals of nursing, health assessment, medical-surgical care, mental health, community health, obstetrics, pediatrics, leadership, ethics, and research methods. Clinical placements begin in the first year and continue through all eight semesters, supported by simulation laboratories before students move into hospital, community, and long-term care settings. Graduates who complete the program and pass the national licensing examination become eligible to register with the College of Nurses of Ontario as Registered Nurses. Admission requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma with university-level courses in English, biology, chemistry, and mathematics, or equivalent credentials for mature and transfer applicants. The program suits students preparing for professional nursing practice who want progressive, hands-on clinical exposure alongside classroom and laboratory instruction from their first semester onward.

Application Details
Start Date:September
Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca: for Fall 2027 entry the application opened 26 September 2026 and the province-wide equal-consideration date is 1 February 2027; Confederation also publishes its own equal-consideration dates of 1 March for Winter-entry programmes and 1 April for Spring-entry programmes. After these dates, files are assessed on a rolling, first-come basis while seats remain, and the college flags Aviation, Health, Engineering Technology and Community Services programmes as filling quickly. International applicants apply via international.ocas.ca; intakes close roughly six weeks before each semester starts and a programme can close earlier once seats fill, so no fixed international closing date is published. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
