The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Arctic Nursing) is a four-year entry-to-practice degree offered by Dalhousie's School of Nursing in partnership with Nunavut Arctic College, based in Iqaluit, Nunavut. The curriculum follows Dalhousie's standard nursing coursework, covering anatomy and physiology, community and mental health, pharmacology and nursing practice, with added emphasis on primary health care and Inuit culture and community. Most courses are delivered remotely online; clinical placements provide the in-person component, with a third-year placement in Halifax at a hospital and a mental health facility, and a fourth-year placement in a Nunavut community. Applications to the program are submitted through Nunavut Arctic College rather than directly to Dalhousie. Graduates receive a Dalhousie nursing degree and are prepared to practice as generalist nurses, particularly in Northern and remote health care settings.
