Admission Requirements: Dalhousie's School of Nursing admits Master of Science in Nursing applicants who hold a four-year (or equivalent) bachelor's degree in nursing and current licensure to practise as a Registered Nurse in Canada or another jurisdiction; prior clinical experience is not required. Applicants must have completed undergraduate-level courses in research and statistics. The School sets a minimum admission GPA of 3.7 in the applicant's last 60 credit hours, in addition to Dalhousie's Faculty of Graduate Studies minimum requirements. Applicants whose first language is not English must meet the Faculty of Graduate Studies standard of TOEFL iBT 92 or IELTS Academic 7 overall (or an equivalent accepted test). The application requires a resume, a statement of career goals, and three references, two of them academic. The deadline for September admission to all Dalhousie graduate nursing programs is February 1.

For that cycle, Bachelor of Science (Nursing), Bachelor of Health Sciences, Bachelor of Science (Medical Sciences) and Bachelor of Social Work close February 15, 2026; the Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies (Architecture) closes March 1, 2026; and the Health Sciences post-diploma option closes June 15, 2026. All other undergraduate programmes are considered on a rolling, space-available basis for both domestic and international applicants, with no separate international closing date published; May 15, 2026 is only the deposit and English-proficiency deadline, not an application deadline. Dalhousie has not yet published September 2027 entry dates. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
