Dalhousie University's Master of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering is a thesis-based graduate program in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in Halifax. Students pursue independent, supervisor-guided research supported by advanced coursework, hands-on projects, and access to well-equipped laboratories, culminating in a thesis that is developed and defended before a committee. Research areas span aerospace, automotive, energy, manufacturing, robotics, materials, biomedical, and environmental engineering. Applicants whose first language is not English must meet Dalhousie's graduate English-language proficiency requirements, such as an IELTS Academic score of 7.0 or a TOEFL iBT score of 4.5 on the 1-6 scale.
