Psychiatry Research (MSc) is a thesis-based graduate program in Dalhousie University's Department of Psychiatry, delivered in person over two years or longer. Coursework covers the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders, neuroimaging, early intervention, and personalized psychiatry, alongside training in research methods, and the program is built around small class sizes, faculty lectures, and one-on-one mentoring with a research supervisor. Admission requires an undergraduate honours bachelor's degree, or equivalent, from a recognized university; applicants with a non-honours degree may still be considered if they have equivalent research experience. A faculty member must agree in advance to supervise the student's thesis research for the full length of the program before an offer can be made. Applicants must also submit at least two academic or research references, a statement of intent, and a research proposal. Students must meet the Faculty of Graduate Studies' general admission requirements, and international applicants must additionally satisfy Dalhousie's international-student and English-language requirements.
