Gain knowledge and hone your skills in landscape construction and soil and plant nutrition so you are prepared to work in creating and developing dynamic residential lots, business locations and communities. This program equips students with the expertise to design, construct, and maintain vibrant outdoor spaces that meet the growing demand for sustainable and aesthetically pleasing environments. Admission Requirements: Domestic entry runs through Ontario's college application system: the minimum is an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or an equivalent Grade 12 diploma from another Canadian province, or Mature Student Status for applicants 19 or older who have not finished high school. On top of that general route this program requires Grade 12 English at the C or U level and Grade 11 mathematics at the C, M or U level (or recognized equivalents such as a post-secondary credit, a GED, or the Canadian Adult Education Credential). Applicants without a Canadian credential may instead demonstrate English proficiency to Durham College's institution-wide standard for certificate, diploma and graduate-certificate programs: IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with no band below 5.5, TOEFL iBT 88 overall with no section below 22, PTE Academic 53 overall with no section below 49, CAEL 60 with no section below 60, or Duolingo English Test 110 or higher. Applicants short of the English or mathematics prerequisites can pursue Durham's pre-admission assessment testing and free Academic Upgrading before enrolling.
