Overview

This Diplôme d'études supérieures spécialisées (DESS) in public administration management is a 30-credit graduate diploma for practicing or newly appointed managers in public sector organizations. The curriculum includes four mandatory courses covering management skills and career development, individual and group behaviour in organizations, management of public organizations, and the principles and issues of public administration, together with five elective courses and a mandatory integration activity. Classes are offered mainly at ENAP's Quebec City, Montreal and Gatineau campuses, with some courses available online in various formats. The DESS does not confer an academic grade; it is a professional management credential aimed at building the competencies public sector managers need to lead teams, manage organizational change and apply public administration principles in day-to-day practice.
