Overview
The Indigenous Perspectives Designation (IPD) is an option available to students in this program. To qualify for an IPD, you must take and successfully complete a series of required Indigenous Studies courses as well as participate in a minimum of four approved co-curricular Indigenous events or experiences. Your transcript will indicate the IPD upon graduation, a designation that provides you with a comprehensive understanding of Indigenous cultures, histories, traditions, and contributions to our shared society within the context of your program of study. The IPD provides a valuable skill set sought after in today's employment sector.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Direct entry requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) including Grade 12 College-level (C) English and any two Grade 11 or 12 College-level (C) Sciences; Grade 11/12 University/College (UC) Science is recommended but not required, and Grade 12 C substitutes for a Grade 11 C requirement. Applicants 19 or older without an OSSD may sit the Skillsmarker assessment. Before placement, admitted students must complete non-academic field requirements including a police records check (about $50), a TB test (about $50) and mask-fit testing (about $50); missing the deadline for these bars participation in the placement components. No programme-level language scores are published, so Fleming College's general English proficiency requirement applies: IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with no band below 5.5, TOEFL iBT 80 with no section below 20, PTE Academic 46, or Duolingo English Test 105.
