Overview
Interior decorating is the art of creating distinctive interior spaces that respond to functional needs and address aesthetic perceptions. As a student, you focus on the use of space, beautification and furnishing of interiors, and the documentation of design concepts resulting in an overall package that conveys a sense of place. Using a variety of formats including lecture, studio and lab, you complete projects to interpret client requirements and create innovative interiors. You gain professional and entrepreneurial skills for industry and self-employment, as well as real life experience through participation in a field placement in the decorating field.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: This part-time delivery defers explicitly to Georgian's main Interior Decorating admissions requirements, which the page directs applicants to. Those require an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or mature student status, plus Grade 12 English at the C or U level, with mature applicants aged 19 or older, non-secondary-school applicants, and home-schooled applicants also considered through equivalent coursework, upgrading, GED, or equivalency testing. No portfolio or interview condition is published. Applicants whose first language is not English fall under Georgian's general diploma-level requirement: IELTS Academic 6.0 overall or TOEFL iBT 79 overall.

Programs outside the highly competitive list carry no equal-consideration date and are assessed on a rolling basis year-round. International applicants apply directly through Georgian's own portal with no published closing date and are assessed on a rolling basis while seats remain, though Georgian warns a program open when applied to may close before assessment.
