Diploma in Sport Administration is a diploma in Business Administration programme taught at Georgian College in Barrie, Canada. The programme runs for 2 years, delivered on campus. Teaching is in English. Tuition for international students is CAD 7,619 per semester (CAD 1,652 per semester for local students).
This two-year diploma builds the knowledge, skills and experience needed to work in sport and recreation, across a range of professional roles in the industry. Business administration fundamentals come through courses in research, technology, marketing and accounting, alongside a sports analytics course that strengthens data-driven decision-making for organizational outcomes. Specialized coursework covers facility management, fitness operations, fundraising, sponsorship, tournament and league scheduling, and program planning, while community leadership opportunities and field placements let students apply these skills in real-world settings. Graduates are positioned for roles spanning sport development, community recreation, sport marketing, and operations and facility management within sport program coordination, with options to pursue further study in the field.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent (or mature-student status), Grade 12 English at the C or U level, and any Grade 11 or 12 Mathematics at the C, M or U level, with a minimum 60 per cent required if that mathematics credit is taken at the Grade 11 college or university level (MBF3C or MCF3M). Mature students, non-secondary-school applicants aged 19 or older, and home-schooled applicants may qualify through equivalent courses, upgrading, GED completion or equivalency testing, and prior post-secondary study or relevant experience can earn credit through Georgian's Credit for Prior Learning process. The programme page sets no English-language score of its own and defers to Georgian's institution-wide English Language Proficiency Requirement, which for a diploma is IELTS Academic 6.0 overall, TOEFL iBT 79, PTE Academic 58, or Duolingo English Test 110. Because placement agencies require an up-to-date clear criminal reference and vulnerable sector check before placement, an unpardoned record of criminal offences may prevent a student from completing placement and therefore graduating.
