Bachelor of Interior Design

Admission Requirements: The academic requirements below are Humber's Ontario baseline; an international applicant meets the equivalent standard for their own country of study through Humber's Academic Equivalency tool and then the same program requirements. Academic: an OSSD or accepted equivalent including Grade 12 English (ENG4U or equivalent) at a minimum of 65 per cent; a Grade 11 or 12 mathematics course (MCR3U, MCF3M, MDM4U, MCB4U, MGA4U, MCV4U or MHF4U, or equivalent) at a minimum of 60 per cent; four further Grade 12 U or M courses; and an overall grade point average of 65 per cent. Mature-student status or college/university transfer status are accepted in place of the secondary-school route. Additional requirement - creative readiness, demonstrated in any one of three ways. Option A: a completed Grade 11 or 12 U or M Visual Arts (AVI/AVJ) or Communications Technology (TGJ/TGG) course, or AWL4M, AWF4M or AWH4M, at 65 per cent or better - no portfolio needed. Option B: at least two semesters of a related college or university program in art, design, media or architecture at an overall 65 per cent average - no portfolio needed. Option C: a portfolio of two pieces, all work original, dated and titled - first, a space or still-life study showing your handling of colour, composition, light, shadow, depth, tone and texture, submitted with a photograph of the scene you arranged; second, an open piece in any medium (video, drawing, model, collage, photographic series) accompanied by up to 350 words on the work, its title and what inspired it. Submissions go through the Applicant Portal. A Canadian citizen or permanent resident schooled abroad needs a credential assessment first - ICAS course-by-course for a secondary transcript, WES for post-secondary study. English, where English is not your first language or your previous education was in another language: Humber's bachelor's degree band - IELTS Academic 6.5 with no band under 6.0, TOEFL iBT 84 with 21 per skill, PTE Academic 58-60, Duolingo 115, CAEL 60 including 60 in writing.
