Honours Bachelor of Public Relations is a honours degree in Public Relations programme taught at Humber College in Toronto, Canada. The programme runs for 4 years. Tuition for international students is CAD 24,413 per year (CAD 8,052 per year for local students).
The Honours Bachelor of Public Relations is a four-year, eight-semester degree at Humber Polytechnic's Lakeshore campus that prepares students for public relations work across the corporate, agency, government and non-profit sectors. The curriculum builds writing, research and strategic-communication skills through courses in news and feature writing, social and digital media, event and crisis management, media relations, and communications-strategy planning, alongside foundational business and finance coursework. Students complete a mandatory 14-week work placement that applies classroom learning to a professional public relations setting, and the program draws on conferences, guest speakers and industry events to connect students with working PR professionals. As a fully accredited honours degree, it also allows graduates to pursue further study at the master's level. Graduates are prepared for roles such as communications officer, media relations officer, social media manager, special events manager and public affairs officer, in agencies, corporations, government bodies and non-profit organizations. The program suits students drawn to storytelling, media and creative communication who want a career built on strong writing and strategic-thinking skills applied to organizational reputation and stakeholder relationships.
