Overview
La science des données allie informatique et statistiques pour transformer de grandes quantités d'information en décisions éclairées, du sport à la médecine en passant par le monde des affaires. L'étudiant programme avec des langages adaptés à l'analyse de données, exploite des bases de données relationnelles et massives, applique une approche statistique axée sur la pratique et recourt à l'intelligence artificielle pour dégager des renseignements clés. Deux projets pratiques suivent le cycle de vie complet d'un projet en science des données ; au terme du parcours, le diplômé extrait, traite et analyse des données de sources multiples, automatise ces tâches et en visualise les résultats clairement. Le programme est aussi offert avec option coop.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Domestic entry requires the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, the Quebec DES, or the New Brunswick DES (or La Cité's mature-applicant test for candidates 19 or over without a diploma), plus a named mathematics course: Ontario asks for MCR3U, MCF3M or MAP4C (MCT4C is recommended in addition); Quebec for the strong Grade 4-secondaire mathematics stream (TS or SN) or regular Grade 5-secondaire mathematics (Grade 5-secondaire mathematics is recommended in addition); New Brunswick for 30321B (30411B is recommended in addition). The page sets no French or English test score. La Cité's institution-wide language-test page sets a minimum of 375 points (written comprehension) on the TCF or 352 points on the TEF for applicants who must demonstrate French competency by test. International applicants qualify by holding a baccalaureate or secondary diploma, or by being in their final year of secondary school with proof of enrolment.
