Overview
The Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics Diploma at Red Deer Polytechnic is a two-year program covering machine learning, business intelligence, and bioinformatics. In the first year, students build a foundation in data science using Python, SQL, and AI frameworks, working with real-world datasets and machine learning algorithms while studying data engineering, computer vision, neural networks, and deep learning, alongside a work-integrated learning placement. In the second year, students choose a specialization stream: Machine Learning, Business Intelligence, Bioinformatics, or a self-designed Multidisciplinary stream combining courses from all three. A Co-Op Specialization option is also available. The program is delivered full-time or part-time, on-campus. To graduate, students must pass all courses and achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0; Co-Op students must also complete the Co-Op Work Term.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants must have a minimum of 50% in English 30-1 or 60% in English 30-2, and 50% in Math 30-1. Equivalent courses, including Academic Upgrading equivalents, are accepted to meet admission requirements.
