The Business Information Technology Management Analytics Data Management Option is a two-year, full-time diploma delivered in person at BCIT's Burnaby campus with a September intake. The option combines core business principles with data management practices, focusing on data governance, data quality, and data integration. Students learn to apply data governance frameworks that meet privacy, security, and ethical standards, assess and improve data quality for decision-support systems, use tools to clean, store, transform, and integrate data from multiple sources, and apply data analytics for strategic business purposes. The curriculum also covers planning for the evolution of a mature data organization. Graduates are prepared for roles such as business intelligence analyst, data governance analyst, data quality analyst, data steward, and data architect. The option follows BCIT's common first-year Business Information Technology Management curriculum before second-year specialization.
