Chemical Production & Power Engineering Technology - Accelerated Diploma

Chemical Production & Power Engineering Technology - Accelerated is a two-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma delivered in-person at Lambton College, combining four academic terms with two four-month co-operative work terms. The programme is designed for applicants who already hold a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, a general science degree, or an Ontario College Advanced Diploma with the required preparation in math, chemistry, physics, and English, crediting that prior education toward exemption from introductory coursework. Students train to work as operating engineers or process operators, learning to control and monitor industrial equipment and processes, including chemical manufacturing and power generation systems, so they run safely, efficiently, and effectively. The accelerated format lets students with relevant post-secondary backgrounds complete the credential faster than the standard-entry diploma. The programme runs a single annual intake in September and pairs classroom instruction with paid co-op placements in industrial operations.
