Overview
The Master of Science in Midwifery at McMaster University is a graduate program designed for practicing midwives seeking advanced clinical and research training. The program uses a hybrid delivery model, combining asynchronous online coursework, synchronous online sessions, and in-person learning, allowing much of the degree to be completed from a distance. Students may pursue a course-based or thesis-based stream, with full-time study normally completed in about two years and part-time study in about three years. Admission requires current registration and clinical experience as a practicing midwife, along with either an undergraduate degree in midwifery from an accredited university or equivalent qualification for registration in a Canadian jurisdiction.
