Behavioural Neuroscience at Memorial University is a Bachelor of Science major, with an honours option, that studies the relationship between the structure and activity of the brain and the integrated, adaptive behaviours it produces. The curriculum covers topics such as spatial and temporal cognition, the hormonal regulation of behaviour, and animal models used to study psychological disorders, combining coursework in psychology, biology and related sciences with hands-on research experience. The four-year degree gives graduates a foundation for further graduate or professional study in neuroscience, psychology, medicine or related health fields, as well as research-support roles in academic or clinical laboratories. Students complete general first-year admission requirements before declaring the major, which requires specified coursework in introductory psychology, critical reading and writing, and mathematics. The program is delivered on the St. John's campus.
