Admission Requirements: Chemistry cannot be chosen as a major at the time of application: students first enter Memorial's Faculty of Science under the university's general admission requirements, which for the B.Sc. route also require appropriate senior high-school courses in mathematics and a laboratory science. Within the first two semesters (exceptionally, one), the chemistry major requires completion of at least 30 credit hours (10 courses) including six credit hours each of chemistry, mathematics and physics (recommended) or another science, plus six credit hours of critical reading and writing (at least three in English), with a 65% average or better across the first-year chemistry, mathematics and physics courses. No program-specific English test scores are published; applicants whose first language is not English follow Memorial's general proficiency requirements (e.g. IELTS Academic 6.5 overall, TOEFL iBT 4.5 overall). University applications are rolling, with priority deadlines of March 1 (Fall), October 1 (Winter) and February 1 (Spring).
