Advanced Security Management is an Ontario College Graduate Certificate delivered over one academic year of two semesters. The program builds advanced skills in protection and crisis management, covering computer investigative techniques, risk management, executive protection, threat assessment, and intelligence gathering and analysis. Students study corporate asset protection and practise advanced surveillance, close protection, and event management, including exercises within a simulated Emergency Operations Centre. Training opportunities include Canadian Firearms Safety and Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety courses, ASP baton and handcuffing, and Situation Awareness Specialist training, alongside simulated judgmental training systems and tactical scenario-based learning. Graduates can work toward Certified Fraud Examiner and Business Continuity Professional designations. Requirements
Admission Requirements: A minimum two-year college diploma in Police Foundations, Community and Justice Services, Protection, Security and Investigation, Web Informatics, or a related security field, or a university degree in Criminology, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience is required. Applicants may need to meet physical standards, provide a driving abstract, and pass health standards including vision. A Police Criminal Record Check and additional selection criteria may be used to assess applicants, and a security or private investigation license is recommended.
