The Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Management (GCHM) is offered jointly by the Desautels Faculty of Management and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at McGill University. The 8-month, course-based program is delivered synchronously online and targets healthcare professionals and physician leaders from a range of healthcare backgrounds and systems around the world. Coursework covers leading organizational transformation, financial management and analysis, leading and managing people, conflict resolution and negotiation, operations management in healthcare settings, and quality improvement in health care systems. Learning activities combine interactive group work with reflection and application to practice, aiming to strengthen the quality, efficiency, and fiscal responsibility of health care delivery. A final practicum lets students work, under an assigned advisor, on a project addressing a real healthcare management challenge of their choosing. The program admits students in the Winter term.
