Overview
Human Resources Management is an Ontario College Graduate Certificate delivered over one academic year of two semesters. The program develops strategic workforce management skills across recruitment, training, performance management, compensation, health and safety, and labour relations, building on knowledge students already hold from a prior degree or diploma. Students complete a seven-week, full-time work placement that provides hands-on experience across sectors such as municipal government, hospitals, and manufacturing, applying classroom concepts to real HR functions under workplace supervision. The program is aimed at graduates who already hold a postsecondary credential and want to specialize in human resources practice, combining classroom instruction with an applied placement to prepare students for HR generalist and specialist roles across a range of industries and sectors, including both private employers and public sector organizations.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: A university degree or three-year college diploma is required. Selection is based on previous academic achievement and demonstrated experience; applicants must submit postsecondary transcripts, a resume, and a cover letter describing their interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources and any accomplishments that demonstrate they would be a strong candidate.
