Overview
The Bachelor of Aviation Management is a four-year degree based in Calgary that combines flight-related training with business and management study, covering aviation safety, air law and organizational behaviour. Students choose between two concentrations: Flight Crew Operations, which includes optional Commercial Pilot and Multi-Engine Instrument Rating training, or Aviation Operations, which focuses on management and business knowledge specific to the aviation sector. Training includes use of a full-motion, 250-degree wraparound flight simulator, with flight instruction based at Springbank Airport, and an optional ground school offered from May to August for Private Pilot License preparation. The program builds in a professional internship with airlines, airports or aviation-related businesses, and offers flexible online course options during the final two years while students gain work experience. It suits students pursuing airline or airport operations management, aerospace logistics, pilot careers, regulatory roles or aviation supply chain and logistics positions.

Admission Requirements: Direct entry from Alberta high school requires five Grade 12 courses, including English Language Arts 30-1 (minimum 60%) and Mathematics 30-1 or 30-2 (minimum 60%), plus three further courses from Groups A, B or C. Applicants may also qualify through successful completion of a two-year business diploma, applied degree, or four-year business baccalaureate from an accredited post-secondary institution. Post-secondary transfer applicants are assessed on GPA, which varies by program, and mature applicants need at least two Grade 12 courses. Applicants whose first language is not English must complete any English course required for the program and meet Mount Royal's institution-wide English Language Proficiency requirement, met by, among other options, IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with at least 5.5 per band, TOEFL iBT 86 overall with at least 20 per section (4.5 overall with at least 4.0 per band for tests taken from January 21, 2026), PTE Academic 58 with at least 55 per area, CAEL 70 with at least 60 per band, or Duolingo English Test 120. The Fall 2026 early admission period ran October 1, 2025 to February 1, 2026, with ongoing admission by program space through August 31, 2026.
