Child and Youth Care is a two-year diploma preparing students to design and deliver therapeutic, recreational and social programs for children, youth, families and communities. The curriculum focuses on supporting children and youth aged 6 to 25 who have experienced developmental trauma, building skills in program planning, communication, positive guidance and crisis response for work in 24/7 residential and community settings. Delivery is blended, combining in-class instruction with online coursework, and the programme includes more than 700 hours of field-experience practicum. Students develop a professional portfolio documenting their skills and achievements. A current criminal record check and vulnerable sector check are required to complete work placements, and First Aid/CPR certification is a graduation requirement. The programme begins each September. International applicants must meet document and English-language requirements that vary by country of origin. Graduates are eligible to become Certified Child and Youth Care Practitioners.
