PGCert in Human Resource Management

This one-year Postgraduate Certificate at Nova Scotia Community College builds a foundation in human resource management practices for graduates seeking HR careers. Delivered on campus, the program covers recruitment, training and development, compensation, labour relations, health and safety, diversity, and grievance management. Students apply their learning through consulting projects with industry clients and collective bargaining simulations, and complete research assignments on current HR issues. A mandatory field experience placement, lasting approximately five weeks, gives students practical workplace exposure. Graduates receive a Postgraduate Certificate; this credential is not eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit. Admission normally requires an undergraduate degree or equivalent; applicants with a high school diploma and at least five years of work experience in any industry may be considered under NSCC's Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition policy.
