Equine Massage Therapy Certificate

This one-year, on-campus certificate trains students in equine massage therapy techniques used to identify areas of tension and develop targeted massage treatment plans for horses. Coursework covers equine musculoskeletal anatomy and the therapeutic techniques used to address soft-tissue issues and support performance and recovery. The program includes a required field placement of at least 25 massages, totalling 45 or more hours, performed on horses at off-campus locations that students arrange themselves. It begins with a Fall intake and leads to a Certificate in Equine Massage Therapy. Graduates are eligible to pursue the Certified Practitioner designation through the National Board of Certification for Animal Acupressure and Massage. The program suits students seeking careers as equine massage therapists or complementary equine health practitioners working alongside veterinary and equine care professionals.
