This one-year certificate prepares students to diagnose, service and repair agricultural and heavy equipment used across farming and construction operations. Coursework covers engines, hydraulic systems, braking systems, electrical systems, starting and charging systems, and fuel systems, delivered through hands-on instruction in the college's workshop and tool room. The program runs across two terms, from a Fall intake through completion the following spring, and is offered on-campus. Graduates receive a certificate credential and may be eligible to write the First and Second Period Apprenticeship exams in the Agricultural Equipment Technician or Heavy Equipment Technician trades, providing a pathway toward journeyperson certification. The curriculum combines classroom theory with practical shop work on a range of engine and equipment systems, building the diagnostic and repair skills needed for entry-level technician roles in the agricultural and heavy equipment service sector.
