The Master of Science in Forensic Psychology at Ontario Tech University combines specialized study in forensic and psycho-legal topics with training in research methods and statistics. The program emphasizes experimental psychology and psycho-legal research over clinical practice, preparing graduates for work in law enforcement research, mental health institutions, correctional facilities, trial consulting and academic settings. Students complete disciplinary coursework alongside applied learning experiences and a research-based thesis. Instruction is delivered in-class at the Downtown Oshawa campus, and the program is normally completed in about 24 months of full-time study, with entry each September. Applicants require a four-year undergraduate degree in Psychology or a related field such as Neuroscience, Computer Science, Biology or Criminology, and submit a curriculum vitae, a statement of academic intent and a writing sample; an honours thesis and an undergraduate statistics course are preferred but not required.
