This two-year SAIT diploma prepares students for business careers within the automotive industry, combining core business administration coursework with automotive-specific content. Coursework covers communication, marketing of vehicles, services, and aftermarket products, consumer behaviour, and management skills such as team leadership, resource allocation, and goal-setting. Delivery is blended, combining traditional classroom instruction, collaborative coursework, and online learning. Between the first and second year, students complete a paid summer work practicum in the automotive industry, adding a work-integrated learning component ahead of graduation. The program was designed in collaboration with automotive industry representatives and is described by SAIT as unique among programs in Western Canada. It suits candidates with strong communication and interpersonal skills, an interest in sales and customer service, and the flexibility to work across dealership functions such as parts, service, and finance. Graduates are prepared for leadership or management roles within dealerships, or positions with related organizations such as aftermarket companies, insurers, or credit companies. Standard full-time completion is two years, with up to seven years allowed to finish all coursework.
