Through the Natural Environment Technician – Conservation and Management program, you’ll learn to monitor and manage natural resources. Gain career-essential field skills and techniques used to protect our forests, freshwater ecosystems, and land within the region’s resource-based economy. Through the College`s partnership with the regional conversation authority, we’ve expanded our outdoor classroom adding more lands to research and apply real-world natural resource management concepts. Get lost in the program’s practical field training as you navigate the rugged landscapes of Northern Ontario using the latest mapping tools, canoes, boats, ATVs and snowmobiles. This two-year diploma program offers a balance of classwork and field study for a well-rounded education. Requirements
Admission Requirements: Domestic entry requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma with Grade 12 College English (ENG4C) at a C average, or equivalent, or mature student status; missing prerequisites can be completed free through Academic Upgrading. Applicants educated outside Canada or in a language other than English are directed to the college's international admission requirements, which set IELTS Academic 6.0 (no band below 5.5), TOEFL iBT 79-80 (no section below 20), PTE Academic 60 (no band below 52), or Duolingo 110 (no band below 105), valid within two years of program start. As a co-operative education program, students must also complete at least one co-op work placement (CWF100) as a graduation condition; no portfolio or interview is required.

Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca: for programmes starting in September 2027, the application system opens on 26 September 2026 and the equal-consideration date is 1 February 2027, after which qualified applications are assessed first-come, first-served until seats are full; Sault College publishes no equal-consideration date of its own, and neither OCAS nor the college states a separate date for the January 2027 intake. International applicants apply directly to Sault College rather than through ontariocolleges.ca; the college states only that applications are reviewed within five business days of submission and publishes no fixed opening or closing date for international admission. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
