Overview

Four-year honours degree at the Seneca@York campus preparing strategic communications professionals for corporate communications, public relations, marketing and content roles. Coursework blends communication theory with business management and design, covering research, planning, analysis and evaluation of multi-platform strategies including AI and digital channels, with hands-on work in the student-run Studio 67 marketing agency. A mandatory work term of at least 420 hours is typically completed between third and fourth year.

Admission Requirements: Domestic entry requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, or mature-applicant status, with six Grade 12 U or M courses averaging at least 65% overall, including Grade 12 English (ENG4U) at a minimum of 65%; Seneca offers free upgrading for applicants short of English or math, and recommends Grade 12 Mathematics of Data Management (MDM4U) plus courses in English, communications, media, art or design for program readiness, though none of these are mandatory. English proficiency for international applicants follows Seneca's institution-wide standard for degree programs (senecapolytechnic.ca English requirements page): IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0, TOEFL iBT with no skill score below 21, PTE Academic 60, Duolingo 115-120, or CAEL 70 with writing at least 60; domestic applicants meeting the Grade 12 English prerequisite are not asked for a formal test. No portfolio, interview or work-experience requirement is stated; international applicants may be asked for further documents on a country-specific basis.
