Program details

Overview

Eight-month Ontario College Graduate Certificate at Seneca@York, the only one-year laboratory-based cosmetic science graduate certificate of its kind in Ontario. Students combine knowledge of science with art and business to develop cosmetic and personal care products, working hands-on with industry-relevant equipment on formulation from raw materials to finished products while studying the product development process, sales and marketing, global regulations, quality and biological systems. Delivered in person with May and September starts.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Admission follows Seneca's graduate-certificate entry route: applicants need an Ontario university degree, college diploma, or equivalent, in biochemistry, pharmacy, chemistry, biotechnology, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical manufacturing or a related field. Canadian citizens and permanent residents educated outside Canada must submit a WES or ICAS credential evaluation. As a graduate certificate, this program falls under Seneca's institution-wide policy of asking domestic applicants for a formal English test only when they cannot show enough prior study in English (for example three years of full-time secondary school, or two full-time years of college or university study, in a country where English is an official or the common language); international applicants must meet Seneca's published English-proficiency levels for graduate certificates. Neither the program's own pages nor Seneca's general English-proficiency page states a specific test score for this program.
