Contemporary Arts Post-Baccalaureate Diploma

Admission Requirements: The Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Contemporary Arts is for students who already hold a university degree, from SFU or elsewhere. Applicants apply through SFU's standard undergraduate application, selecting the Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology and Post-Baccalaureate Diploma as the program, then contact a Contemporary Arts advisor for internal program approval after university admission. Placement into upper-division studio work is by an AIP process — audition, interview or portfolio — rather than a stated numeric score. Students must maintain a cumulative and upper-division grade point average of at least 2.67 to remain in good standing, and may need to complete prerequisite lower-division courses before enrolling in the required 30 upper-division Contemporary Arts credits. No language-test scores are stated; because entry requires a completed prior degree, English-language proficiency follows SFU's general scale, e.g. IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0.
