Program details

Overview

Completed in an accelerated 15-month format, this diploma trains students for licensing as a P-1 paralegal with the Law Society of Ontario, able to provide legal services within the defined scope of paralegal practice. Students learn to represent clients on matters including liquor licence cases, municipal by-law disputes, highway traffic offences and occupational health and safety issues in provincial offences court, alongside small claims civil litigation and less serious criminal matters before the Ontario Court of Justice. The program also covers client representation before tribunals including the Landlord and Tenant Board, the Human Rights Commission and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal.
