Overview
Civil Engineering Technologists, as members of the engineering design team, may be involved in various phases of a construction project, including the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and infrastructure such as roads, bridges, sewers, and water distribution systems. Technologists can prepare CAD drawings and bids, collect and compile data, perform survey work, and participate in the inspection and quality control processes. This program will appeal to those with an aptitude for assembly, who are analytical, enjoy problem-solving, and are strong in math.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma with the majority of credits at the College (C), University (U), University/College (M) or Open (O) level, plus Grade 12 Mathematics at the C or U level. Mature applicants without an OSSD may qualify through St. Clair College's mature-student route on the general admission-procedures page. The programme (Ontario College Advanced Diploma, code T154) admits in September; domestic applicants apply through Ontario Colleges and international applicants through International OCAS, with further support available via the college's International Students office. The programme page does not publish its own English-proficiency scores; St. Clair's institution-wide standard for diploma and certificate programmes applies to international applicants: IELTS Academic 6.0 overall, TOEFL iBT 60 overall, PTE Academic 52, CAEL 60, or Duolingo English Test 110.
