Overview
Psychology at St. Francis Xavier University is offered as a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science, with major and honours options, delivered in person through the Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Science on the Antigonish, Nova Scotia campus. A direct-entry four-year Applied Forensic Psychology stream is also available. Admission Requirements: The Psychology page states no program-specific admission requirements and defers to StFX's general admission requirements. Psychology is offered as a major within both the Bachelor of Arts and the Bachelor of Science (declared at the end of first year), and also as a direct-entry Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Applied Forensic Psychology, which is limited-enrolment. For Nova Scotia applicants, the BA requires English 12 or English 12: African Heritage plus four further university-preparatory courses; the BSc requires English 12 or African Heritage, Pre-Calculus 12 or Calculus 12, two of Biology 12, Chemistry 12, Computer Science/Programming 12, Environmental Science 12/Geology 12 or Physics 12, plus one further course. The university-wide minimum is an overall Grade 12 average of 70%, with no grade below 65% per required subject. Applicants whose first language is not English must submit an approved test: IELTS 6.5 overall (no band below 6.0), TOEFL iBT 90 (no section below 20), Duolingo 115, CAEL 70, PTE Academic 60, or MET 55.

International applicants must apply by 30 May 2027 for September 2027 entry (late applications reviewed case-by-case depending on visa timing) and by 30 September 2026 for January 2027 entry, confirming by 30 October 2026. Admission is not open-ended rolling; each intake has a firm published deadline, though the general Fall deadline stays open until 1 September while seats in non-competitive programmes remain.
