Overview
Medieval Studies at St. Jerome's University, co-sponsored with the University of Waterloo, is an interdisciplinary field covering the period from the fall of the Roman Empire to the beginning of the modern era. Students draw on history, literature, religion, philosophy, and art to examine medieval society, culture, and ideas, choosing courses that let them pursue particular interests, encounter new areas of study, and revisit topics often neglected in conventional single-discipline programmes. The General Medieval Studies stream is offered as a three or four-year Bachelor of Arts, combinable with other areas of study. Course delivery includes on-campus, blended, and online formats. Graduates commonly pursue further study in medieval history, literature, or related humanities fields, or careers in education, archives, museums, and public history.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Ontario applicants need an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent) with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses from a school accredited by the Ontario Ministry of Education, including Grade 12 U English with a minimum grade of 70%. Applicants whose most recent four years of full-time education were not completed in an English-language school system must also submit an English language proficiency test score. Admission to St. Jerome's University follows the same admissions process, application process, and document deadlines as the University of Waterloo.
