Overview
The Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Geography is about a wide set of sub-disciplines that share in common the study of the human use and experience of the world. You'll study such broad territory as the relations between nature and society, place and human identity, and the spatial basis of economies and societies. You will explore four main study areas: Culture and places; cities and globalization; nature and society; and research and methods. After graduation, you'll be prepared for careers in government, policy groups, consultancies, academia, NGOs, and more.

Admission Requirements: The program page for this Bachelor of Arts states no specific high school courses required beyond UBC's general Arts admission profile, so eligibility follows the Faculty's standard entrance requirements rather than a Human Geography-specific prerequisite; an honours option and a co-op option are available but are not admission requirements. Domestic Canadian secondary-school applicants otherwise need graduation from a recognised secondary school with at least six Grade 12-level academic courses, including English Studies 12 or English First Peoples 12; UBC assesses the overall Grade 11/12 academic average and publishes no institution-wide cut-off, since each program is competitive against its own applicant pool. International applicants without a Canadian curriculum need a recognised university-preparation credential covering the same subjects, for example a completed IB Diploma with three Higher Level courses, GCE with at least three academic A Levels, the Baccalaureat General, or an equivalent twelve-year-system credential. English-language competency is required: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0; TOEFL iBT 90 overall (Reading 22, Listening 22, Writing 21, Speaking 21); PTE Academic 65 overall; or Duolingo English Test 125 overall.
