The BSc Geography major examines landforms, landscapes and the physical processes shaping the Earth's surface, alongside the human dimensions of environmental change such as climate change, deforestation and shifting agricultural and urban land use. Students receive training in systematic physical geography, including geomorphology, hydrology, soil biogeochemistry, biogeography and climatology, and study how physical, chemical and biological processes interact across spatial and temporal scales to produce distinct environments and ecosystem services. Field courses provide hands-on environmental data collection experience, complemented by quantitative techniques such as GIS and remote sensing. The program is offered by the Faculty of Science, with applicants admitted directly to that faculty, and leads to a Bachelor of Science degree.
