Overview
This Bachelor of Arts program, delivered through the Faculty of Community Services, examines disability through an interdisciplinary lens covering mental health, technology, policy, the arts, disability history, justice, representation, and research methods. It is described as the first program of its kind in Canada. Admission Requirements: This is a degree-completion programme with no OSSD or Grade 12 route: applicants qualify either with a two- or three-year advanced diploma with an academic focus (community services, business, arts, engineering or science) from an Ontario public college, at a cumulative average in the 'B' range (70%) with at least one humanities or social-sciences diploma course at a 'B' or higher; or with at least 20 single-term (or 10 full-year) undergraduate courses averaging in the 'B' range (70%) across the top 20, including at least one humanities or social-sciences course at 'C+' or higher. Holders of a four-year degree may receive up to 8 transfer credits. Other post-secondary backgrounds and international equivalents are assessed case-by-case, and applicants submit a personal letter and supplementary form. The programme page defers to TMU's general admission requirements for English proficiency: IELTS Academic 6.5, TOEFL iBT 92, Duolingo 120, PTE Academic 60 or CAEL 70.

Application Deadline:Toronto Metropolitan University sets one guaranteed-consideration date for both domestic and international applicants applying for Fall 2027 entry: complete applications and amendments received by 1 February 2027 receive equal consideration for admission, and TMU says this same date applies to 'all domestic & international applicants.' Non-academic ('Grades-Plus') requirements are generally due around this point too, though the exact date varies by programme. For Winter 2027 (January-start) entry, TMU's program-status page gives domestic applicants a guaranteed-consideration date of 1 December 2026, with most programmes closing applications in mid-December; a limited number of programmes separately accept international applications for winter admission subject to space availability, but TMU publishes no fixed closing date for those international winter applicants. Admission is not rolling: late applications are considered only as space allows after the guaranteed-consideration date. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
