MA/MS in Building Science

This program offers graduate study in Building Science leading to a Master of Applied Science (MASc), a Master of Building Science (MBSc), or a PhD, delivered through the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science. The interdisciplinary curriculum applies building physics fundamentals to building components, occupants, and the surrounding environment, covering sustainable building design, building performance, and construction processes. All three credentials are offered full-time. Admission to the MASc and MBSc requires a four-year undergraduate degree from an accredited institution; the PhD, established in Fall 2019, requires a master's degree in building science, civil or mechanical engineering, or a related field. Applicants submit a statement of interest, resume/CV, transcripts, and two letters of recommendation. The program suits students pursuing research or applied careers in sustainable building design, building performance analysis, or construction technology.
