Overview
This program leads to a Master of Fine Arts in Documentary Media, delivered full-time through The Creative School, and brings together established documentary traditions with emerging non-fiction storytelling practices. Students work across film, photography, or new media, producing projects that may take the form of narrative films, print-based or interactive photographic books, web or multi-platform documentaries, or gallery-based installations. The 20-credit curriculum covers documentary studies, media fundamentals and production, master's project development and production, professional perspectives, and electives in advanced theory and communication and design. Students have 24/7 access to graduate labs and equipment, and the program hosts the annual DocNow Festival showcasing thesis work. Graduates pursue careers in film and television production, arts administration, freelance media work, and education, with some continuing to doctoral study.
