Program details

Overview

This program leads to a Bachelor of Elementary Education focused on French immersion and school inclusion, training teachers for primary classrooms (grades 1 to 8) within French immersion programs in English-language schools across Canada. Over two years and 68 credits, students build a foundation in pedagogy, second-language learning, and inclusive teaching practices, combining coursework with practicum placements. The first year is completed at the Edmundston or Shippagan campus, with the second year at the Moncton campus. Graduates who complete the program become eligible for provincial teacher certification, with training that emphasizes inclusive practice for students with diverse learning needs in immersion settings. The program is intended for applicants who already hold sufficient prior credits or an undergraduate credential rather than students entering directly from secondary school.
