Overview
The Bachelor of Science (Major in Biology), Co-op Program, is a four-year, 120-credit undergraduate degree offered by Universite de Moncton, combining a biology major with a minor and three paid, work-integrated placements. The cooperative stream requires three mandatory 12-to-16-week work terms (BIOL2000, BIOL3000, BIOL4000), each assessed through successful completion of the placement, a written report, and a seminar presentation; all three must be passed for the co-op designation to appear on the diploma. Entry to the cooperative stream requires completion of the first year with a minimum cumulative average of 2.80 and a successful selection interview. The program can be started at the Moncton, Edmundston, or Shippagan campus, with Edmundston and Shippagan students completing their first two years there before finishing the degree at Moncton. The program prepares graduates for employment or further studies in the biological sciences.
