Master of Science (Physics)

The Master of Science in Physics (M. Sc.) is a two-year, 45-credit thesis-based graduate degree offered by Universite de Moncton at its Moncton campus. The 33-credit thesis consists of an advanced physics research project carried out over one to two years under the direction of a faculty supervisor, culminating in a written dissertation. Students complete at least 12 elective credits chosen with the program director from options that include stellar astrophysics, advanced theoretical physics seminars, laser physics and other specialized graduate physics courses. The program targets students seeking advanced knowledge across a range of physics fields. Graduates are equipped to conduct independent physics research and pursue further doctoral study or research-oriented careers requiring specialized physics expertise. Elective topics are selected in consultation with the program director to align with each student's chosen area of specialization.
