Overview
This four-year Bachelor's pathway is designed for Canadian applicants who completed secondary studies outside Quebec and for international students, letting them move directly into disciplinary study from year one. More than eleven orientations are offered, including anthropology, communication and politics, demography and statistics, economics and politics, environmental geography, linguistics, psychology and sociology, political science, economics, sociology, and political science and philosophy. Students complete a minimum of 30 credits in their first year before continuing into their chosen discipline for the remaining three years. Optional internships and international study opportunities are available alongside the regular curriculum. Full-time and part-time study options are offered, with day classes on the Montreal campus and unlimited enrolment capacity. A single application covers admission to the full four-year pathway, and eligible students may request a four-year study permit.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants must hold a secondary school diploma (12 years) from a Canadian province other than Quebec, or an equivalent pre-university credential from outside Canada that is not equivalent to the Quebec DEC. As of Winter 2026, applicants must also meet Universite de Montreal's French-language requirement: those educated entirely in French may be evaluated directly from their transcript, while others must submit results from an accepted French test or diploma meeting the programme's B2-level comprehension threshold, within the required validity period.
