This 90-credit Bachelor of Anthropology examines human societies past and present across four specializations: archaeology, bioanthropology, ethnology, and ethnolinguistics. It is the only bioanthropology training offered in Quebec. Students take part in archaeological field schools covering historical and prehistoric contexts and can work with an ethnographic collection of roughly 3,000 objects assembled since the early twentieth century. Research groups and laboratories are available for hands-on training, and international study opportunities are offered during the degree. Full-time study normally takes three years, with a four-year pathway and part-time study also available; classes are held during the day on the Montreal campus. Graduates go on to careers or further study in archaeology, museums, cultural resource management, applied social research, community and government consultation, or graduate programmes in anthropology and related social-science fields.
