Overview
The Doctorat civil en theologie is a PhD offering in-depth study of Christian self-understanding, preparing researchers able to conduct high-level work in academic, ecclesial, private or public settings. Students produce an original thesis contributing to knowledge in theology. The minimum length of study is six trimesters: three consecutive full-time trimesters in residence, followed by three additional full-time trimesters or six part-time trimesters, up to a maximum of five years full-time or six years part-time. Admission requires a faculty member's prior agreement to supervise the candidate's research. The program admits students in the fall term.
